favorite photo shots 2011 - part 1

So as I was going through photos of the garden 2011, I realized I was choosing too many favorites for one post.
It certainly is not because of my camera skills, lol,
but rather the work of the Master in His creation.

It was an exceptional year and I'm sure He was saying "It is good".

The garden wakes in early May. I love this garden sink made from an Italian cement planter. It is HEAVY!

A river of light blue Iris.

A scene of blue and purple.

The pinks start to wake in the peony/iris border.

A lovely wildness.

Pretty brick edging - very English  : )

Schools of pinks and purples swim together. It could happen....

The Great White Heron takes flight...

Fat lusciousness... It's a word! ( spell check corrected me!)

'Festiva Maxima' peony.

A favorite place to sit in the shade, on a hot day.

Most of these photos were taken in the Potting Shed garden in May and first week of June.

More next time...

  1. Absolutely glorious photos of your garden. Love the shady spot to sit and enjoy the gardens. Do you ever actually sit and enjoy, or are you always busy? I have wonderful comfy chairs on my back patio, but I find that most of time I rarely sit in them because I'm always up doing something in my garden. In the spring and fall, I do take Sunday afternoons to sit a spell and relax. I hope you take some time to enjoy our awesome Creator's beautiful creation and all of your hard work.

  2. Oh, those blue irises! They go so perfectly with your pink and white, peonies and lilies. Lusciousness seems like the perfect description!

  3. Hi Tony,

Thanks for the encouraging words! Yes, I do sit under those trees but not before I've done so many garden chores all I can think of is sitting down! lol
I find as I'm getting "older" I am enjoying The Master's creation more and more.

  5. You have a wonderful garden!!! Such beautiful photos of it. I've never been very successful with peonies. They are so pretty with iris.
